ASCL is positive competition built around personal progress. Climbers at different levels share the same gym, cheer for each other, and measure success one move at a time.

    Use the school you attend—or would attend based on your enrollment area if you’re homeschooled or online.

    Register with ASCL

    Create your climber account, complete the required forms, and select your Arkansas region.

    Climb your way

    Practice with a school team, a gym group, friends, or independently. Build from where you are.

    Join the season

    Compete in regular-season events, then work toward regional and state championship opportunities.

What families ask first.

Still unsure? That’s normal. The important part is that a student doesn’t need a perfect plan before taking the first step.

Can my student compete without a school team?

Yes. Students can represent their school even when it does not have a formal team, or register as an unattached climber.

Does my student need to be an experienced climber?

No. ASCL welcomes climbers from beginner through advanced. The environment emphasizes personal progress and positive competition.

What does the season cost?

The annual 2026–27 ASCL climber fee is $125. Host gyms also charge event fees, generally $20–$45 per competition. Limited ASCL scholarships are available based on qualification. Every student requesting a scholarship must complete the scholarship request and submit the required verification form. Contact Sharon Bennett with questions. Additional financial assistance may also be available through Every Kid Sports, subject to its eligibility requirements.

What kind of climbing is included?

Events may include bouldering, roped climbing, or a mixed format, depending on the host gym and event.

Is this only for traditional public-school students?

No. Private-school, homeschool, and primarily online students are welcome. Registration explains how to identify the school they represent.
