American Scholastic Climbing League in Arkansas. Youth climbing for students in grades 6–12, from beginner to advanced. Students can represent their school, challenge themselves, and find their people on the wall.
A nonprofit league created by climbers, for climbers.
Competition dates are organized by Arkansas region, followed by the state and national championships.
Five Arkansas gyms are participating this season. Select a gym to visit its website.
ASCL is positive competition built around personal progress. Climbers at different levels share the same gym, cheer for each other, and measure success one move at a time.

Use the school you attend—or would attend based on your enrollment area if you’re homeschooled or online.
Create your climber account, complete the required forms, and select your Arkansas region.
Practice with a school team, a gym group, friends, or independently. Build from where you are.
Compete in regular-season events, then work toward regional and state championship opportunities.

Yes. Students can represent their school even when it does not have a formal team, or register as an unattached climber.
No. ASCL welcomes climbers from beginner through advanced. The environment emphasizes personal progress and positive competition.
The annual 2026–27 ASCL climber fee is $125. Host gyms also charge event fees, generally $20–$45 per competition. Limited ASCL scholarships are available based on qualification and need. Scholarship assistance may include five months of gym membership, league fees, competition fees, and climbing gear. Every student requesting a scholarship must complete the scholarship request and submit the required verification form. Applications must be submitted by October 31, 2026. Contact Sharon Bennett with questions. Additional financial assistance may also be available through Every Kid Sports, subject to its eligibility requirements.
Events may include bouldering, roped climbing, or a mixed format, depending on the host gym and event.
No. Private-school, homeschool, and primarily online students are welcome. Registration explains how to identify the school they represent.
